According to the NBA the Denver Nuggets will open the 2009 NBA Playoffs at home on Sunday April 19 at 8:30 Mountain time. It will before the first time Denver has enjoyed home court advantage since 1988 and I think the Pepsi Center will be rocking.
Game two will be Wednesday, April 22 in Denver at 8:30 PM Mountain time. Both of the first two games will be broadcast by TNT.
The third game is slated for 11:00 AM Mountain time in New Orleans on Saturday, April 25 and will air on ESPN.
The NBA has yet to schedule any of the other games.
The very first game of the playoffs will be Saturday morning at 10:30 AM Mountain time between the defending champion Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls.
You can look forward to a buttload of playoff coverage here at RMC and it will kick off with a live chat with Niall and Ryan at Hornets 24/7 tomorrow night at 7:00 PM Mountain.
Update: We do know the dates for the other games, just not the start times. Game four will be on Monday, April 27 and the if necessary games are Wednesday, April 29 in Denver, Friday, May 1 at New Orleans and should there be a game seven, it will be on Sunday, May 3 in Denver.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Anyone else going to any games? Jeremy, chance to buy you a beer?
Jeremy,
Have you seen any of the shit talking the Blazers’ fanbase has been doing? Things like “oh, co-champs” and “haha thuggets” and “whine whine whine we should have been the two seed”. It’s absurd. I have no problem with Portland as a team, but I really hope that Houston smacks them down in the first round just to shut up their fans.
Anyway, this series should be great. Are you planning on going to any of the games? I think I am going to try and catch at the least game 2, possibly games 6 if it goes that long and absolutely a game in the second round if they get there.
Thanks for the good recap and scheduling update.
I’ll be at Game 2, Game 5, and (hopefully not, because we close it out in 6 ha) Game 7. Cheap seats are only $10 and I think you can still find them for the later games.
Not feeling great about this series, especially with Chandler back… we split the series with them with him never playing a minute. He gave us problems even with a similar type player in Camby, but maybe Nene is a better choice against him… there’s not much evidence either way. I do LOVE the K-Mart/David West matchup — if Kenyon can disrupt the pick and roll and stay in West’s face, we’ll be in good shape. They need him as a 24/10 kind of guy, especially since their bench is horrendous, Peja has been iffy since coming back, and Chandler isn’t 100%… I think K-Mart can keep him from contributing on that level.
And let’s not forget that J.R. consistently plays great against the Hornets… looking forward to some explosions from him, especially since Posey is by far their best defender and he’ll normally be lodged on ‘Melo. Butler is solid, but I like JR’s chances if that’s the matchup.
Off topic here. Kmarts put back dunk last night, dunk of the season for the Nuggets??!!??!?!
Can’t wait for some of your analysis of the series. This is a challenge for the Nuggets. Despite the home court and all that, I don’t think many people are buying the Nuggets to go anywhere this postseason.
This came as a pleasant surprise to me, But Espn is in large favor of Denver. 3 of the experts even picked Denver to win in 5 including Hollinger. Of course Abbot (blazers homer, yes I followed the live blog last night Jeremy) was the only one to pick the Hornets.
