In the NBA typically talent wins out.  The Clippers have some talented players, the future is brighter than usual with players like Eric Gordon, Bledsoe, Aminu and of course Blake Griffin.  Chris Kaman is a solid player and the Clippers have added some notorious Nuggets killers from seasons past in Craig Smith and Rasual Butler (Ryan Gomes has had his moments in the past versus Denver as well).

The script was a typical Nuggets versus a team that does not possess their respect.  In the first half the Nuggets get outworked, they showed some life prior to halftime and finally showed enough focus in the second half to get by in a game where Denver’s ten point fourth quarter lead felt like 25.

There is a reason why I frequently watch games twice before I write anything about them.  I was bound and determined to blast the Nuggets for their shoddy zone offense.  I was going to proclaim the players were completely unprepared to deal with the Mavericks zone defense despite the fact the Mavs throw it on them every time they play.  I was only partially right.

Win Courtside Tickets from RMC for the Nuggets/Clippers Game

The good people at StubHub have provided two tickets in Section 124 Row AA, (that is courtside people!) for the Denver Nuggets game against the Los Angeles Clippers this Friday, November 5.  This is your chance to see Blake Griffin on his first trip to the Pepsi Center from the expensive seats!  Chris Kaman’s facial hair will be there as well.  To enter you must follow RMC on Twitter and tweet me, @RoundballMiner, the answer to the following question:

What Denver Nugget scored nine points in nine seconds on three consecutive three point shots in the final minute of a game?

You must have your responses to me by 6:00 PM Mountain time on Thursday, November 4. I will then put all the correct responses into a hat and my daughter will draw the winning Twitter account out of said hat.

2010-11 Game 3: Denver Nuggets 107 – Houston Rockets 94

Box Score | Highlights

I like to try to diagnose tactics and strategies that lead to wins and losses.  I watched the Denver Nuggets’ 107-94 victory in Houston against the Rockets twice and it sure seemed like more of a pickup game than an organized professional basketball contest.
