REMINDER: Nuggets preseason almost underway

The Denver Nuggets will kick off their 2012 preseason campaign against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8:30 p.m. in Las Vegas. Because the Colorado Rapids are playing at 7 p.m., the game will not be televised on Altitude. NBATV will be airing a replay of the Dallas Mavericks preseason game in Germany at this time, which seems odd considering a live game in Las Vegas would be much more preferable to viewers. If anybody has any information on where this game can be viewed please leave a comment below. The rest of the Nuggets remaining preseason schedule is as follows (per DenverPost.com):

Oct. 12, @ Spurs, 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 15 vs. Warriors, 7 p.m.
Oct. 17 @ Trail Blazers, 8 p.m.
Oct. 21 @ Oklahoma City, 6 p.m.
Oct. 25 vs. Clippers, 8 p.m.
Oct 26 @ Suns, 7 p.m.

I believe that the clippers own personal station will be airing it so most likely frombar.tv will have it but I do not know.

  2. bob says:

I thought altitude had two channels in case things like this happen–generally when the Nuggets and Avs play on the same night?

  4. Tommy says:

Read the preview article on Denver post and Karl said he was impressed with Evan and would be comfortable playing him if there was an injury. He must really be doing well if Karl the rookie hater said that.. I’m excited!

  5. Aaron says:

I Always Watch Nugget Games On This Site Called ATDHE.NET.
Sense I Don’t Have Cable, I Go To That Site, idk if They’ll Be Playing The Game On There Or Not An it May Not Be The Greatest Looking Quality But it Might Be That Or No Game.

Btw Look This Site Up On Google, Doesn’t Work if You Don’t Use Google For Some Weird Reason.

  6. CJP32 says:

GK has said that both Wilson Chandler (hip) and Andre Miller (rest) will not suit up for the game. He’s expecting the young guys to get some quality minutes and has been impressed so far with the play and shooting of Fournier in training camp. Minutes wise, I wouldn’t think that any of the starters will play more than 30 mins and assuming Mozzy is the starting C, I would expect minutes to look like:

    PG – Lawson – 30, Iggy – 10, Anthony Carter – 8
    SG – Iggy – 20, JHam – 18, Fournier – 10
    SF – Gallo – 28, Brewer – 20
    PF – Faried – 28, Koufos – 10, Randolph – 10
    C – Mozzy – 18, McGee – 22, Koufos – 8

I think we will see Iggy play some PG and Gallo play some PF, the rotating of the centres will be interesting, KK may even play some PF.

Should be an exciting game, even if its just pre-season.

I dont think Ty will get 30 min, this is a preseason game. I think 4nier will get backup PG minutes.
I may be wrong, but I think Karl is going to experiment with a lot of lineups today and if 4nier can shoot, he may get more PT than all the haters on draft night thought

  7. Matthew says:

The game will be on League Pass.

  8. jake says:

Evan beat me to it. I had to use that site for 80% of the games last season. Pop up heavy, but free.

    Anthony Carter Ladies and Gentlemen!

  11. jake says:

Oh God… fell apart under AC’s first minutes…

Manimal looked out of place in the first.

    Anthony Randolph is playing ball.

    JHam got the green light.

  12. dynamo.joe says:

If that lil 5 foot hook shot from faried is for real, he is going to destroy people this year.

  13. GalloGallo says:

why is iggy on the bench at the last quarter?

  14. John L. says:

I live in los angeles and the game is on primeticket clippers station. I’m wondering how much george carl is gonna push for Anthony Carter to be on this team. Andre Miller isn’t playing but AC is getting alot of minutes.

  15. jake says:

    I smell teamness.

  16. John L. says:

great finish and possible preview of who will get ball in clutch final seconds (Lawson) great start to season should be a fun year for Nuggs!

  17. SmokinNugs says:

Why oh why AC? Granted he did hit that 2nd to last shot. I was nervous the entire time he was on the floor

  18. Jeff says:

Faried had some nice dishes in the first half. Randolph looked pretty good too.

  19. John L. says:

    Notes:
Javale McGee had less than a mediocre performance given all the hype talked about how his game is changing

Faried still made rookie-like mistakes but led the team in scoring and showed that he deserves to start in the rotation and will be a huge part of how far this team goes

Jordan Hamilton made three 3′s and is definitely making his presence known

Kostas and Mozgov both played on the court at the same time but didn’t feel it was effective and I also feel Kostas may be the better center in denvers eyes. Anthony Randolph had some nice rebounds and looks like he wants to be a comeback player of the year type.

Ty Lawson is making this his team and put an exclamation point on that by hitting a buzzer beater layup. Have a feeling him Gallo will be getting the ball most in clutch situations. Gallo definitely showed hes been working on his game with a slightly above average performance.

Anthony Carter is going to give me a heart attack. Thought he was finally off this team but the amount of minutes he played and the fact that he had a few big plays makes me think George Carl is going to push for him to be part of the team. Good leader but should be served as a coach not a player anymore. Sorry AC

Corey Brewer still showing great energy and wish we saw more of Fournier, not alot of time or presence

Also..Crawford is a good addition for the Clips and the Clippers announcers are more annoying than ever.

    • John L. says:

oh and AI was AI. adjusting to the team, good defense and a couple sweet shots. incredible addition

    • Jeff says:

Yeah, the Clippers announcers were terrible. Focused on the game like it really mattered rather than player development.

      • SmokinNugs says:

And then when Ty won it for us they were all like “and look at them celebrate like this game actually means something.” Just taking a page out of your book Clippers announcers!

  20. Kyle Obergfell says:

    John.. I enjoyed your synopsis..

    but you left out Iguodala…
I didn’t get to watch so what’s the verdict there?

and turnovers seemed to show up in the stats..
    was that an issue?

    • John L. says:

turnovers became an issue in the second half which obviously allowed clippers to close the gap and make it real close. but it is preseason basketball. at times it seemed like guys were ready to go home and at other times it seemed like these two teams were playing the first game of a playoff series. turnovers do need to be still worked on but george karls 4 day defense only practice seemed to be getting these guys in the right mindset

      • SmokinNugs says:

I would say turnovers were a problem in the 1st half considering both teams had 15 of them at halftime.

  21. Kyle Obergfell says:

    ah.. simultaneous posts..
    thanks

  22. John L. says:

I will also say this, which may be the biggest thing I took from this game. I’m no longer nervous watching this team. I know it’s only the first game of the preseason but this team is gonna take care of their business. As long as injuries don’t take there toll (knock on wood) this team is going to finish in the top 4 of the western conference. They know how to play together and the pieces have finally all come together.

  23. Kyle Obergfell says:

I hope so John. I only worry about the center position and the coaching.. Anthony Carter worries me. He has been nothing special.. GK worries me for his favorites and his pariahs.. But sending off Affalo makes me think that maybe I may be misreading him…

on a similar note.. does anyone know if Chris Andersen ever latched on anywhere?

  24. dynamo.joe says:

I think the thing I took from this game is the Clips are better than I thought.

We beat em, but they were missing CP3/Chauncey/Grant Hill. That trumps our missing players of Andre Miller/Wilson Chandler/Julyan Stone.

    • Jeff says:

Yep, they’re much better than I thought. I didn’t think they’re quite on our level, but they’ve got some weapons, and Bledsoe looked really good.
