If you go on stats and game tape and not the popularity contests you are referring to, Iguodala is the best perimeter defender in the game. Ty is arguably a top ten PG or at least is on the verge of becoming one. Gallo is top ten at his position and I'd argue top five. So great three right there. Two of which are still very young. Then Faried is improving daily. But ignoring all that. What you say is as good as nothing. That is my problem with you. Occasionally, anyways.

You need a super star to win a title. But you agree it isn't that easy. You need complimentary pieces. So you say trade for a superstar. But again, you agree, not that easy. It is Denver not New York/L.A./whatever. So you say blow it up. Get draft picks to draft a star. But you ignore we have young talent that is improving that can become all stars if not "superstars". Which is the point of the draft. Except you want us to start from literally the beginning of the process?

Virtually a new team last year. Sixth seed. Seven game series against The Lakers where some key coaching mistakes cost us the upset. Sixth seed right now after a brutal schedule to start, half a game back from fifth, three games back from fourth, those two teams ahead of us are finally starting to get a bit of a tough schedule. So we should get the fourth seed and home court advantage. We should go to the second round of the play offs. We should fight to make it out of there. Not make it out. But put up a fight. That is improvement. With a very young team. With a key new piece.

So if we don't get home court, if we don't make it out of the first round, then yes. Trade everything for everyone and become the Bobcats or Miami's big three. Though really just need Karl to get fired and we'd be good to go. But again if we don't make it out of the first round and don't get the fourth seed do whatever it is you are constantly babbling about.

you don't like me do you?? :) lol

Read the following............... Yes defense wins championships or so they say but so do "STARS"

BUILDING A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM

STEP 1: Acquire a Championship Superstar
Approach #1: Acquire a Top 5 caliber player
Only two NBA Champions failed to include a player named to the All-NBA first team during their careers. These players are easy to identify as all but 4 NBA championship teams included players named All-NBA 1st Team in the prior four seasons.

Approach #2: If you fail to acquire a Top 5 caliber player, then you need a Top 5 caliber defender.
Only two NBA Champions failed to include a player named to the All-Defensive first team during their careers, and each of these teams included Top 5 Players.

Approach #3: Clear salary cap space for next year.
No NBA team has won a championship without a Top 5 player or Top 5 defender.

STEP 2: Add a championship sidekick (or two)
Every NBA championship roster included a Top 10 caliber player or Top 10 defender as a sidekick. Most championship sidekicks can be identified by looking at players named All-NBA 1st or 2nd Team or All-Defensive 1st or 2nd Team in one of the prior 4 seasons. All told, 86% of all championship rosters included at least one sidekick with a previous All-NBA or All-Defensive selection, and over half of the championship rosters (57%) included 2 or more sidekicks with a previous All-NBA or All-Defensive selection.

STEP 3: Make sure one of your players (superstar or sidekick) can defend

I'm not sure about this trade for either side. First, I think ATL wants more for Josh Smith (and Korver) than Gallo. Moz and A Rand are not enough for them, I wouldn't think.

Also, I personally don't want Josh Smith on the Nuggets. He's a good player, but not worth the contract he'll get after the season is over (probably the max or very close to it). He takes too many dumb jumpers from 20 feet. I'd much rather have Al Horford if we're trying to get a big from ATL.
