Just words. Nobody knows what Gallo can be. He is on his 5th season (he lost hist first season because of back injury, then basically lost half of the lockout season). All we know today is that he had injury problems (and that IS an issue) and that he's having, by far, his best season ever just this year. I agree that he is unproven in postseason, but we all can't see where will be his prime.

Feel you, but I think the reason the coaching staff keeps them off the court at the same time is because both are pretty poor defenders by the eyeball test and advanced stats. We get killed defensively when both play at the same time. That's also one of the reasons we go small at the ends of games when we have a lead.

I wish they were both skilled defenders, but they aren't. Very frustrating for all of us that can see the athleticism and potential.

There's absolutely nothing that would give you the impression that Mcgee has the facility to develop that. there are now 4.5 years that suggest he will not. The only thing I have seen him do in terms of effort or smart play different is rotation on 3 pt shots, but of course he then just sits there and watches the rest of the play if there is an offensive rebound. It's stuff that 95% of the league learns not to do within one season. And most of the others are essentially out of the league. I think it is EXTREMELY optimistic that he will all of a sudden figure it out. He has had a full year with Denver now and his playing time is obviously curtailed because of these mishaps and lack of preparation. It doesn't seem to phase him... Im sure he is a decent dude and whatever so Im not trying to assail him as a person, but as a basketball player he's a great athlete... At the time I thought it was an OK trade for Nene, but after the salaries are relatively similar and Mcgee has essentially made no progression other than adding a few offensive pieces that are OK but acts like he is Hakeem.

Im not sure they could ever get anything valuable for him but if they could get Marcin Gortat even throwing in another OK piece (hamilton, a restricted 1st pick, etc) I would do that in a second.

That's a decent assessment of McGee currently. But it doesn't have to be that way forever.

A big part of Karl's job coaching a young, developing team is to develop the greatest talent to as much of its potential as possible. Karl just doesn't seem to see it that way.

Javale mcgee and consistent are an O\oxymoron. He is the definition of inconsistent. He is best played in chaos because if it is not that way it will Become that way. He has no sense of defensive principles nor any idea between a decent offensive shot and horrible.

Look I understand why the nugs decided to pick this guy up because if he had AVERAGE basketball IQ (decision making) he would be a top 3 Center in the league. Mcgee probably has the best combination of size, speed, length, agility and body control in the HISTORY of the league. He plays like a high school sophomore out there though. He averages one IDIOTIC decision per 5 minutes of play. Average would be 1 per 20 minutes. One of the issues with his numbers is that he makes 1-2 goal tends per 20 minutes of play. If you understand the difference between a good team and great team guys like Mcgee CANT get more than 20 minutes on a championship quality team.

I agree THEO.. My problem is the switching defense KARL uses... When you have guys like McGee and Faried on the floor that can bang, you don't want them switching every two seconds on the point guards.. That is STUPID....
