It's a fair point that Karl inherited talent and I agree that with the current management and talent, most coaches would thrive to some degree. I do think we have the best management we've had in a while and it's likely I don't factor that in enough.

Yet I still feel there are things Karl does well that he often doesn't get credit for on this blog. He brings a stability to the franchise, develops players well with his coaching staff, has the Nuggets playing selfless ball, improving on defense, running hard, penetrating the lane... little of which gets acknowledged. Just listen to Javale talk about the difference between his development with the Nuggs vs. the Wizards and it's clear Karl can do some things right. If I never looked at the records or other sources of info, I'd assume from reading these blogs that the Nuggs were in last place in a bad conference.

I feel like you are giving Karl way too much credit here. The number one thing that turned this franchise around was getting competent ownership. The number two thing was finally getting a draft right with Melo. Hiring Karl had little to do with the success we've had over the last decade. You could say he's lead the team to the playoffs every season but every one of those teams was supposed to make the playoffs. Any average coach can get a talented roster to a lower seed and a first round exit. Firing Karl won't lead to some 15 year cloud of darkness like you are suggesting. As long as our front office is willing to assemble good rosters we will be competitive.

Fun look at the past - In 96 we traded our 10th pick to Indiana for Mark Jackson and Ricky Pierce when we could have drafted either Nash or Kobe, 97 we passed on T-Mac for Tony Battie, 98 we passed on Vinsanity/Dirk/Pierce for Raef Lafrentz, and in 99 we passed on AK47 for James Posey.

Imagine what could have been, or don't, its almost too depressing to think about. Thank god Detroit picked Darko or we probably would have blown 03 too lol.

I get that GK is past redemption for you Prospector. While I have my frustrations with him I'm still happy to have him. I was a little young when Larry Brown was coaching for us and he's the only coach with a better winning percentage than GK in Nuggets history. I liked Doug Moe a lot, but I don't feel he was as good a coach as Karl (his record proves this). After MO was pushed out in 1990 we suffered 15 years of flat out bad coaching. For all of Karl's faults he is not a bad coach - just a coach with some clear flaws. I blame management for leaving Miller on the roster knowing GKs man-crush on him, and I wish they would get in his grill about small ball lineups, especially in the playoffs. While I would like to see us experiment with a new coach to get us to the next level, I'm cautious to kick him to the curb and go into another 15 year cycle of misery. He is what he is - a really good regular season coach and a subpar playoff coach.

wow you are taking googer way to seriously. He's a whiner and a pessimist. He likes to complain and needs an enemy to feel he is "defeating." He's antagonistic. Oh well. Just tell him he is wrong when he is wrong (which is often). There is a difference between attacking and zinging someone. theo you were attacking.

Joshua,
Miller's defense is what drives me crazy.. You're right, in a close game in the 4th there is no reason for him to be in the game... NONE... I want the ball in TY's hands, with GALLO and IGGY right behind him... The last 2 games we have seen IGGY's playmaking ability... Like 20 assists over 2 games.. And he plays DEFENSE.... So why is MILLER needed in the 4th??? Answer me that KARL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What? Didn't reply to your comment on this one did I? In fact I let plenty of your things go. For the most part just reply to replies. For the most part anyways. But yeah Mr. Delayed reaction man, might want to start adding context to your replies. Might save you from coming off so umm, schizophrenic?

Back off jerk. You've been dogging me since I first came onto the site with the troll comments. Enough. Back up your comments--so you can save your little niche here--without being an asshole. Making my takes without insulting you or others.

Wow, nice welcome to the site.

No, I'm not a delicate flower, far from it. I'd like to make my comments without being dogged by you. I don't dog your comments or call you a troll. Enough.

If you're smart enough to respond to my stuff, do it. If not, cut out the insulting crap.
