Denver is 21st. There are several larger metro areas with higher pop. that don’t have teams. Probably Chicago is also large enough to support a 2nd team.

Not Wilson Chandler, but if we can do anything of fournier, hamilton, brewer, mozgov + any first rounders for a 8-12 pick we should go for it. Oladipo would be so much better than correy brewer coming in off the bench in the 2 guard. He would be an absolutely perfect fit.

I tend to put them into a few different categories: Juggernaut areas (LA, NYC, Chicago) that can easily support 2 teams and have huge revenue streams available.
Really big cities/metropolitans: DC, Dallas, Houston, San Francisco (SF and DC are borderline juggernaut depending on what you consider San Jose and Baltimore areas). Always have good money when the team is strong. Can dip into luxury tax a little without problems.

Denver, Charlotte, San Antone are the next tier down where they can support a team but will usually have some financially conscious decisions. (Seattle and Detroit straddle the 2nd and third tier)

Then last tier is Memphis, NO, OKC where they can barely support the team enough financially to even meet the luxury tax and make a profit.

BTW, isn’t Denver/Boulder metro area technically a ‘mid-market’ town similar to the likes of Miami or Seattle? I tend to think of towns like OKC, Memphis, NO, Utah, etc. as ‘small market.’ Or in NBA parlance are all towns smaller than LA, NYC, Chicago, Houston, etc. thought of as ‘small market?’

Yeah, I like BJ Young as a fit for the Nuggets but his team isn’t in the tournament so I couldn’t include him. I’ll do some more stuff on him as the draft approaches.

Olynyk, Bullock, and Mcdermott seem like good players we can reasonably target. I see Olynyk more as the stretch 4 we are trying to use Chandler as.

I can not imagine what it would take for us to get Oladipo. He is still projecting to be in the top 10, maybe top 5. Our 1st this year and next year Wilson Chandler and take back a bad contract?

Very nice read. Thanks guys. Liked the emphasis on finding bigs who can come in and play solid D right away, though love Olynyk too. Hard to believe he’ll still be there in the 2nd round….
