Breaking News: JaVale McGee Out for Season

As if today wasn’t busy enough for the Nuggets, they have just announced that center JaVale McGee has joined Danilo Gallinari and Nate Robinson as being out for the year due to injury after having surgery on his left leg.

The news is another blow to a season that was supposed to be about figuring things out under new head coach Brian Shaw in relation to both style of play and which players were long term keepers for the Nuggets. It also was supposed to finally be the breakout year that people around the organization had been hoping for as he had supposedly become more professional and a harder worker since the end of last season.

Now it pushes back another decision for Denver as they must wait and see how he responds and of the improvement he showed throughout the preseason was real or not.

Stay tuned to RMC for more news and reaction as things get more and more hectic in Denver.

Hooray! Now we can see Hickson continue to play at Center over Mozgov.

  • Tyler

Hurray! More 3 point attempts from Hickson!

McGee never showed me enough to keep him this long. Trade him. Dump him and say adios amigos.

Nobody is taking that ridiculous contract.

Hooray! Only 3 more years of Javale McGee…one of the worst contracts in the NBA!

  • COfoEVA

smh… we are tanking for sure.

Hamilton for Brooks. Silly trade. Andre Miller for whom? Another silly trade. Should have just give n him away and paid his contract. If your going to be stupid, go all the way.

Why don’t we trade him for more peanuts? Like we did with Hamilton & Miller.

Umm I don’t think you can get peanuts for a healthy Javale. Your BEST case scenario is a contract that ends one year earlier and a 2nd round pick. More likely he will be traded during the final year of his contract depending on what the Nuggets are doing (have they returned to a 50 win team?) and maybe do something similar to what the pacers did with granger. Some backups and a little cap/salary relief for the team.

Truth be told his all season injury may be better for his trade value than his play had he kept up his pace from the small sample we saw earlier this season.

JaVale sucked this year but atleast he would give me a reason to watch this sorry team this year. Next year with Ty and Gallo and hopefully a superfluous draft pick we should be back and ready to go

He probably could play but front office probably finally realizes tanking is the best option. Though with the one pick, one wonders why they didn’t make moves to load up on picks. Then again they did sign Hickson and Foye this off season, as well as Robinson while keeping Miller who they only moved because they had no real choice, so one shouldn’t really be surprised by any sort of incompetence from this front office.
