Favorite Gametime Snacks – Snacking During Games!

Can you think of anything more fun than gathering in front of the big screen with family and friends and watching the game? The only thing that’s better, are the snacks that you continuously munch on the whole time.

I have put together a short list of some of my favorites. I hope you will try them and enjoy them too.

1) Nachos (by Ashley Taylor)

• 1 lb. ground beef or turkey

• 1 jar salsa

• 1 small brick of Velveeta Cheese, melted

• Tortilla Chips

Brown the ground beef or turkey and drain thoroughly.

Melt Velveeta in microwave in a microwave safe bowl.

Combine ground beef, Velveeta and salsa. You can put it in a small crockpot to simmer or in a fondue set to keep warm.

Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.

2) Game Day Chili (by Debbie Taylor)

This game day chili recipe is sure going to make the game more fun to watch.

• 1 lb. ground beef or turkey

• 1 medium onion, diced

• 1 bell pepper, diced

• 1 pkg. French’s Chili-O-Mix

• 1 can pinto beans

• 1 can black beans (drained)

Brown ground beef and drain well.

Heat a couple tbsp olive oil in a skillet. Add onion and pepper and sauté till peppers are soft and onions are translucent.

Add meat to sautéed vegetables. Pour in Chili-O-Mix, pinto beans and black beans. Simmer for 30 minutes.

Serve with Mexican Cornbread:

• 1 cup self-rising cornmeal

• 1 cup self-rising flour

• 1 large egg

• 1 cup buttermilk

• ¼ cup oil

• 2 tbsp. chopped jalapenos

Grease 8-inch square pan. In medium bowl combine cornmeal and flour. Then add the egg, buttermilk and oil. Stir well. Then stir in jalapenos. Mix until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 25 minutes or until brown.

3) Artichoke & Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms

• 1 pkg. crimini mushrooms

• 1 pkt. Artichoke & Spinach Warm Dip by Tastefully Simple

• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

• 8 oz cream cheese

• 1 tsp. garlic powder

• Italian Bread Crumbs

• Parmesan Cheese

Clean mushrooms and remove stems. Rub with olive oil. Combine Artichoke & Spinach Warm Dip Mix with cream cheese and shredded mozzarella. Stuff mushrooms with this mixture.

Sprinkle with garlic powder, parmesan cheese and bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese melts and bubbles.

4) Bayou Bourbon Wings

• 6 lbs. wings or drummettes

• 1 bottle Bayou Bourbon Glaze by Tastefully Simple

Wash and dry chicken. Spread out in single layer on baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Brush with glaze. Bake another 15 minutes. Brush with glaze again. Finish baking until done.
