The Nuggets played hard for four quarters, they played good basketball for one half and they completely ran out of gas for five minutes in overtime. Had Brian Shaw allowed his bench to play more and gotten his team up out of the gate, we’re likely talking about a Nuggets win as opposed to a […]
The Denver Nuggets lost to the Atlanta Hawks today by virtue of, surprise surprise, an atrocious first half. Trailing 36-57 after 24 minutes, they never got closer than seven points in the second half, and the Hawks seemed in control the whole time.
So, I guess that happened? What that is exactly I’m not sure but apparently the Nuggets got whooped. Unfortunately none of our writers were able to catch the game so we’re relying on you, our loyal readers, to recap this one. Remember to play nice and to take things into context. This is one game. […]
In what ended up becoming one of the more exciting games this season the Nuggets took the Blazers down to the wire yet fell short in the end. Lawson had a standout performance as did Wilson Chandler. Unfortunately, neither outperformed LaMarcus Aldridge and the Blazers as whole. Portland Trail Blazers 105 Final Recap | Box […]
Nuggets get a stressful win in Utah tonight. Denver Nuggets 103 Final Recap | Box Score 101 Utah Jazz Kenneth Faried, PF 29 MIN | 4-9 FG | 3-4 FT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 11 PTS | +1Great hustle and energy on […]
That’s what I like to call a vintage Pepsi Center win, wherein the Nuggets hit their stride with an early run then ride their depth to a blowout victory. Led by Arron Afflalo’s 22 points, the Nuggets beat Phoenix 122-97 for their fourth straight home win.
After a promising start, the Nuggets came out flat in the third quarter and played catch-up the rest of the way. Gerald Green dominated, the Nuggets were roughed up on the interior and ultimately ran out of gas.
The Denver Nuggets won their fifth straight game against the Bulls on Tuesday. Ty Lawson broke Kirk Hinrich’s ankles on an assist (yes, you heard that correctly) and Danilo Gallinari made a ridiculous shot that should have counted even though it didn’t (confusing, I know). Finally the Nuggets are actually fun to watch again. More […]
The Nuggets won their fourth straight in ugly fashion, downing the Lakers 101-94 in overtime. Grades for the players and coach are below.
The Denver Nuggets are on a winning streak as they best the Thunder of Oklahoma City for a 107-100 win. Grades and commentary are posted below.
Just a few hours after ESPN posts an article about why the Nuggets are so terrible, they respond with a convincing win over the Eastern favorite Cleveland Cavaliers. Maybe Shaw used that as motivation in the pregame? Denver Nuggets 106 Final Recap | Box Score 97 Cleveland Cavaliers Kenneth Faried, PF 22 MIN | 4-6 […]
The Nuggets beat the Pacers in blowout fashion for their first win in over 2 weeks. Denver is now 1-0 on a 3 game road swing that will take them to New York and Cleveland next.
Following in Charlie’s footsteps from a few nights back when he decided to forgo player grades, I too refuse to grade anybody’s performance this game as it’s not seeing the forest for the trees, so to speak. Doing a traditional recap at this point is nothing but persnickety. Instead I will write something I was […]
Note: I’m switching to more of a free-form recap format as the general nature of the game and the team at large demand it. Individual grades and analysis of the micro problems fly in the face of the overwhelming macro issues currently plaguing the team. We’ll return to to the rapid reaction format next time.
The Nuggets were not in this game from the first whistle. This looks like how I expect the 76ers to look in late March. Things are bad and it’s hard to even imagine a light at the end of the tunnel. More depressing notes below… Denver Nuggets 109 Final Recap | Box Score 131 Sacramento […]
The Nuggets shoot 39% en route to their second straight loss and are now 1-2 on the season. Check out the grades below and a few of my thoughts on what’s going wrong. Hint: it’s everything.
This was a frustrating game. It was not a game that should be measured by entertainment, but by pure levels of pain and suffering. Let me explain… Denver Nuggets 91 FinalRecap | Box Score 102 Oklahoma City Thunder Kenneth Faried, PF 25 MIN | 3-8 FG | 1-2 FT | 6 REB | 0 AST […]
In the first game of the 2014-15 season the Denver Nuggets started off languid but kicked it into high gear late thanks to a standout defensive stint from Alonzo Gee and endless energy from Kenneth Faried. Though it was rough, the Nuggets prevailed by 10 in the end. More analysis below… Detroit Pistons 79 Final […]
The Denver Nuggets and Los Angles Clippers played a game Saturday that was televised on NBA TV. Because it appeared on national television (unlike most of the Nuggets’ preseason games) I decided to do a small recap, or rather publish a list of notes I made in chronological order as the game played out — […]
